Book Your OET Exam: Document Requirements and Test Centre Details
The OET exam is an important step for healthcare professionals who aspire to work in an English speaking country. OET exam preparation includes a lot of steps and requirements. Booking Requirements
The OET exam is conducted multiple times a year for healthcare professionals. There are certain things that you should prepare beforehand ahead of booking your exam slot. These are the list of things you should have before booking the OET exam:
A Digital Passport Sized Photo
You should be careful and follow certain requirements and guidelines before uploading your digital passport photo while booking for the OET exam. If some problem occurred and the uploading failed, the registration would get cancelled.
The uploading photo should check all these boxes:
- Passport size
- .Jpg or .png format
- Between 200KB and 2MB in size
- Coloured photograph
- White background
- Less than three months old
- Face only
- Have a sharp focus
- Should look directly at the camera
- Head coverings, if worn, must be simple in design and coloured, and should be positioned in a way that leaves the face fully visible, from the chin to the forehead, with no obstruction of the facial edges.
- No shadows should be visible
- Have no red-eye
- Only neutral expression allowed
- Be with a closed mouth (no smiling, frowning, or raised eyebrows).

Keep in mind that OET accepts MasterCard and Visa. All the payments are processed through eWAY or Stripe.
An Identification Document
An identification document is required to be uploaded and presented.
List of documents required:
- Passport: A valid passport with your name, photo, date of birth, and expiry date is required.
- National Government-Issued ID: Valid identification documents issued by the national government of the country where you intend to sit for the OET are accepted, excluding driver’s licences.
- Your national ID must be in English, featuring your complete name, photo, and date of birth, all on a single document. If the National ID is not in English, a certified translated copy is required to book and take the test.

- An EU Card is accepted as a valid National Government ID for booking and taking the test. On the test day, you can use either your passport or national ID to confirm your identity.
You must provide one of these valid IDs on the day of examination. The ID you provide must not have expired, been cancelled, or invalid under any circumstances. If failed to do so, ID shall get rejected.
For refugees/Asylum status cases-
Refugees and asylum seekers, who do not possess a valid passport or a government issued national ID canbook OET using their official immigration documents that recognize their status. An authorization letter is required if the provided document does not have a valid photo or full name. The authorization letter must be submitted within two days and all these documents must be brought to the test centre.
How to book OET?
You can complete your OET booking process through these steps:
Search For Your Nearest Location
- Visit the official OET website.
- From the drop-down menu, choose where you’d like to take the OET exam.
- You can also find a location through, “find your nearest location” search option.
- Click the BOOK option on after selecting your preferred location and you’ll be redirected to the booking portal.
Book OET on Paper
- Visit occupationalenglishtest.org/myoet-login/.
- Register a myOET profile.
- Follow the instructions provided.
Follow these steps after creating profiles for OET on paper, follow these steps:
- Log into the official booking portal.
- Select the ‘Apply for the test’ option, which will require you to register and create an account if you are a first-time OET test-taker, or log in if you already have an account.
- Go through every step carefully after Completing all the requested fields.
- Review the profession, location, and times.
- Proceed to checkout.
- Fill out the card details and complete the booking.
Keep in mind that you’ll only have 15 minutes to fill in the card details to pay the OET exam fees. After the time out, it will expire.
Book Computer Based OET Exam.
If you opt to take a computer based exam, then you should follow these steps:
- Visit the official site.
- Create the OET account by following the instructions and select the test. You’ll need an ID and credit card for it.
- Complete all of the requested fields carefully without making any mistakes.
- On the booking portal, click ‘Book Your Test’ or ‘Book Now’.
- You’ll have to give consent to reading the OET Terms and Conditions and the OET Privacy Policy before moving ahead. Ensure that the details given are accurate.
