RECENT IELTS UPDATE!!!
IELTS ONE SKILL RETAKE- Retake any one module and improve your score.
What if you could retake any module to improve your IELTS score?
Yes, you heard it right!!
Many of us take the IELTS examination for different dreams and aspirations. Some require us to qualify for the IELTS Academic, and others require IELTS general. We would sometimes miss a module by a point or two in both these IELTS Academic and General tests. If it does, we are left with no other option but to retake the complete examination with the four modules.
IELTS One skill Retake, the new feature IDP provides for IELTS, lets you retake anyone module and improve your score. Recently, IELTS IDP announced that they would be launching a brand-new test called the IELTS One Skill Retake. If a student does not get the score they were hoping for on the first try, they can repeat only one of the four abilities (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) on the IELTS test. IELTS One Skill Retake’s introduction will undoubtedly significantly impact how long test-takers can reach their desired results.
IDP has created IELTS One Skill Retake to give you the confidence you need to ace your IELTS test. IELTS One Skill Retake might assist you in getting back on track if you didn’t perform to your potential in one test section. The modification, now known as the IELTS One Skill Retake, is now only accessible in test centres in Australia. Even though there are currently certain restrictions on this availability in Australia, it will likely be available by 2023 in centres in India. So far, the new feature has raised more questions than answers.
Given the circumstances, it is clear that the trial phase has yet to end and that more updates are still required.
Receiving an unexpectedly low module score could not be more disheartening. Here’s how this feature can help you. So far, we are receiving more questions than answers regarding the new quality. Many of the questions include the following concerns,
- Can we retake the exam only once or more than time?
- Will the one skill retake apply to Canadian Migration, International education, and other career perspectives?
- Do IDP and the British council offer this scheme? Indians!! Relax, we got the exam only for IDP.
- What happens to the current result? What if the reattempted score is lesser than the former?
But so far, certain things are clear, and probability is raised as per the method it was conducted in Australia. We expect the same to be applicable worldwide, per the standardised IELTS examination method.
What’s New?
As of now, we can be more sure about a set of things. This includes the following.
- there would be no change in the examination pattern or the timings
- The test shall be requested within 60 days after the original trial.
- This applies to both Academic and General tests.
And that we are getting a second chance!! This indeed is the best news!!
So, what could we expect?
We have seen over many years that IELTS makes a lot of effort to ensure that test-takers are heard and responded to. Switching from the traditional paper-based examination to computer-based testing is among many of these improvements. We have observed how the IELTS indicator score may also be considered for language evaluation across institutions worldwide for higher studies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We could also consider this a relaxation in assessing the competency of English assessment tests like IELTS.
